Behind the Brand

Melanin Wear was started in the wake of far too many observations of the margins and disparities that continue to plague black and brown communities across the globe. Witnessing how differently black and brown people are treated based on skin tone encouraged a lifestyle that celebrates differences, specifically the differences in complexion.  The separation within black and brown communities based on how much, or how little, melanin makes up one’s complexion has gone on for countless years. Taking action to end this senseless and divisive narrative is the sole mission of Melanin Wear. While we are aware that much more is needed to alter the narrative, we are both encouraged and determined to initiate change! Thank you for celebrating Melanin with us!
